Eye Of The Storm, Original Abstract Painting

The eye of a storm swirling into view or the eye of a strange creature?  A little bit of both, I think. Maybe some bizarre jelly fish. Which ever it is, it is clear from this picture that I need to work on making sure the paintings aren’t hung crooked. This is a 12×16 gallery wrapped canvas that can be hung or sat on a shelf. Message: It’s always calm in the eye of a storm. Things whip past hurled on currents that formed somewhere in the past. It’s easy […]

Slipstream

In the Spring, everything including the lake gets coated in pollen. This painting reminds me of that. Pollen floating and swirling on the surface of the water as you cut through it. A slipstream is that space behind a moving object where the air or water can be moving as fast as the object. Or something like that. It’s also a genre of fiction. This is on a 8×8 canvas. I used my fave phthalo blue, bright yellow, white and black. I love the movement in this painting. The storm […]

Slowly working away…

With all the wonder and potential in the world, why have we created one that drains us instead of fills us? That is the real big question, not ‘Why am I here?’ I have been managing to get some painting done. I’ve got 6 paintings waiting to be sealed. I want to get back to working on more watercolors too. […]

Faultline, Abstract Painting

This painting reminds me of things that are being pushed together, rubbing up against each other like tectonic plates shifting beneath the ocean. This might be on purpose. It might be the result of changes you’ve already been making or of changes that aren’t being made. Shifts and changes always cause disruptions, but sometimes that is what we need. 8×8 on gallery wrapped canvas.

Beneath the Surface, Abstract Painting

Imagine standing on the edge of a perfectly calm, surface like glass, blue lake. A glimmer of something under the water catches your eye. Maybe this lake isn’t as peaceful as it appears. Or maybe there is treasure down there. There is something lurking in this painting, distorted by the depths so you can’t clearly see what it is. Which is how it goes with things not yet fully explored. What are you waiting to explore? 8×8 on gallery wrapped canvas No framing needed. Can be hung with push pins […]
